Emergency Medicine Update

We are delighted to welcome you to the inaugural Doctors Updates Emergency Medicine section meeting in Val d’Isere this coming January.  We are planning a programme which reflects the diversity of modern-day Emergency Medicine. The Emergency Medicine stream will be delivered from 08.00-10.00 and we will share in the broader interest multidisciplinary programme from 16.30-19.30.  In between these sessions, there will be an opportunity to sample all the alpine activities Val d’Isere has to offer.

Topics planned for this year’s update include:

  • Major trauma
    • The exsanguinating pelvis
    • Reboa
  • Pre-hospital care
  • Toxinology (yes that’s not a misprint, snakes not drugs)
  • Portfolio careers in Emergency Medicine
  • Teaching strategies for the busy ED

We are also welcoming speakers from other sections to provide updates on the acute aspect of their specialty.

  • Acute Dermatology
  • Paediatric Emergency Medicine update
  • Interventional radiology
  • Urology
