Val d'Isere - Winter Conference

Registration for Val d’Isere 2020 is now open

Doctorsupdates 2020, Val d’Isere, 27-30 January

DOCTORSUPDATES have been providing ‘education in a perfect location’ for 30 years now. The meetings take place in the Alps in winter and in the Algarve in autumn. The first Anaesthesia Update was held in 1989 in the beautiful French Alpine resort of La Clusaz with less than 50 delegates and very little snow. The winter meeting was subsequently moved higher in the Alps, first to Belle Plagne and then in 2008 to Val d’Isere, one of the world’s premier ski resorts. We now regularly welcome more than 500 doctors from the UK and other countries to its superb purpose-built conference centre.

The increased capacity of the conference centre has enabled us to accommodate other medical specialties, making this the first truly multidisciplinary meeting of its kind. As well as Anaesthetics, Critical Care and Pain Medicine we now welcome Radiology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, General Practice, Emergency Medicine and Dermatology for an educational week. We also have allied specialties contributing and enhancing our programme. There are both specialty specific and joint academic sessions as well as parallel satellite sessions and hands on workshops. There is no doubt that the introduction of several different specialties side by side in a congenial location has provided a unique opportunity for exchange of ideas, problem solving, networking and learning from each other.

Doctorsupdates are extremely proud of their academic reputation, and can assure you of a relaxed, healthy and informative week, whether in winter or autumn, of ‘Education in a perfect location’.
